What Parents Would Do to Protect Their Kids

When Rudy arrived home, he saw his daughter, Diane, crying in one corner. What's wrong honey? he asked her. Diane looked up and when she saw it was her dad, she stood up and hugged her dad tightly. In between sobs, Diane managed to say, Mom and I had a huge fight. Rudy was worried because it is not like her wife, Lyn, to be so mad. He knew that something was terribly wrong. Why? What happened? Rudy asked. It's about Billy. She found out that Billy and I have been going out and she told me to stop seeing Billy. I can't do that, dad. I love Billy. As calmly as he could, Rudy tried to make Diane understand why her mom is upset. Your mom and I trust you, honey. But you are only thirteen for crying out loud! Please try to understand that we are only trying to protect you. If I have to hamper gifts from Billy, I would. I would do anything to make sure that you'll be safe. Diane realized soon after that her parents are only after her welfare.
